Indy Xcel Volleyball Club was established in 2006 so that players in and around the Franklin, Indiana area could learn the fundamental skills of volleyball while making new friends and developing a passion for the sport. Players will practice in an environment that is both positive and encouraging. Each skill will be broken down into its basic elements and each player will receive individualized instruction.

The performance teams will focus on learning the fundamentals of each skill but will also incorporate the dynamics of team play. Performance teams will participate in a minimum number of tournaments (3-5) in the greater Indianapolis area. The season will begin the first week of January and conclude with a tournament the end of April. Performance teams practice twice a week; one week night and on Sunday afternoons.

The training team is for 1-6th graders who are interested in learning basic volleyball skills.  Training team players will practice once a week for eight weeks  beginning in January and will conclude with a controlled scrimmage.

Indy Xcel Information

After ten years of running the Indy Xcel program, it is with a heavy heart that I have decided not to continue. Coaching and mentoring is my passion, but the club season was starting to prevent me from spending time with my kids as they became more involved with club sports.  It is my prayer that someone in the Franklin area will continue with a program, but I am not aware of anyone at this time.  I will update this site and send email messages if I hear differently.  It has been a privilege and an honor to work with so many young athletes over the years.  As I continue to watch many of them play and grow into young women, I am aware that many of them have become like daughters to me, and I think the other coaches feel the same way.  Many thanks go out to those who have coached along side of me, for the Franklin Community School Corporation for supporting our feeder program, to the girls (and boys) who allowed us to help them grow to love playing volleyball, and to the great group of parents who gave us the opportunity.
